On Sunday September 19th you will see smiling women on cycles, dressed up “fancy” in squares and on the streets in 150+ cities.
WHY?
The more women use bicycles, the more women will be encouraged to ride bikes as this is what our planet needs.

Have you ever ridden the Ballona Creek Bike Path? It’s about 7 miles from Marina Del Rey to Culver City, but @schneider is working to get it extended further inland. One of the reasons he founded @streetsforall was to encourage more safe spaces for people to ride their bikes.
A third of a mile of new bikes lanes in LA’s most population-dense neighborhood, Koreatown: the new 7th Street bike lanes extend from Kingsley Drive to Western Avenue. These are an essential first/last mile connection to the Wilshire/Western Metro Station https://t.co/QRvXMGZ6V7
Santa Monica made their streets public spaces over the last year, expanding how they're utilized and making them safer in the process. They've seen a dramatic drop in road collisions https://t.co/Tt4e9d1CKH
I am once again asking you to...fill out a survey re LA transit and walking / biking access. The Purple Line (D) has incredible potential, but the area lacks good non-car infrastructure. Pls let them know! #bikeLA#nobodywalksinLA

We have a number of great locations here on the Westside, and have partnered with @BikeRoWave and @BikeShopCA over the past year. What are some of your favorites?
During this pandemic, bikes have kept us healthy, sane, and connected to the outdoors. We have our local bike shops to thank for that.

The next time someone tells you that “LA is just different” “we can’t change” “it’s too late” “car culture is too embedded”
Show them pictures of Amsterdam in the 70s. Or Copenhagen.
Our city is simply a reflection of our choices. And we can choose to change.
As we head into the weekend, visit one of the Farmers' Markets on the Westside to pick up fresh produce and snacks for the week while supporting local business.
Residents are required to wear a face-covering and practice physical distancing guidelines.
