I am absolutely opposed to nonsense plans from meddling politicians looking to force a regulator on one of the few remaining success stories we have left.

The Premier League.

It projects unrivalled soft power, rakes in a fortune for HMRC and works just fine.

The answer for these people is more regulation, always more regulation.

Regulate. Suffocate. Strangulate. Rinse and repeat.

I made my opposition clear today in Westminster, as the only MP with any real experience in the football industry. I'm not sure pretending to be a fan for the few weeks before an election counts for much...

I'd like to see changes that make football more affordable, and more accessible, for more people.

Lobby to remove the 3pm Saturday blackout.

One group of fans on the entire planet can’t sit down legally at 3pm on a Saturday and watch the games.

English fans.

It’s ludicrous, and does nothing to protect lower league clubs. It should be revoked.

I’d also personally like to see an Amazon Prime style subscription service from the league, where every game was available for one single fee a month. Not spread across multiple channels, but one platform where every game is shown.

But let’s encourage and campaign, not regulate. There is a distinct difference.

The private sector built this success without regulation.

My overriding message is this - LEAVE FOOTBALL ALONE.

I agree with @whichuk - if @NadineDorries wants to #StopOnlineScams tech giants must be made responsible for preventing scam ads from appearing on their sites.

To protect us all online scam ads must be part of the Online Safety Bill.
