Bila rancangan realiti televisyen INNOVATHON dilancarkan, ramai orang ingat saya nak jadi artis. Ini bukan tujuan saya buat INNOVATHON.

Seperti yang saya sebut sebelum ini, masalah yang sudah lama dialami di Malaysia adalah kita ada banyak bakat tapi tiada platform ataupun peluang untuk serlahkan bakat-bakat masing-masing.

Melalui INNOVATHON, saya sendiri menjadi juri. Niat dan tujuan saya adalah untuk mengarusperdanakan budaya inovasi dalam kalangan rakyat.

Kita bawa firma-firma pemodal teroka (venture capitalist) untuk lihat sendiri idea dan inovasi rakyat kita. Seperti kita tonton di episod pertama, inovasi ini dibawa oleh pelbagai lapisan masyarakat daripada yang paling muda kepada yang dewasa.

Kalau ada idea boleh terus mendapat pelaburan. Yang penting produk itu ada kekuatan teknikal dan ada nilai pasaran.

Tahniah kepada The Other Self yang telah memenangi episod pertama dengan inovasi mereka dan telah dibantu oleh firma pemodal teroka (venture capital) 1337 Ventures untuk mendapatkan dana.

Tahniah juga kepada Sarjan Jamlus Bin Zakaria & Staf Sarjan Muhammad Hazwan bin Abdul Latif dengan produk inovasi BONDOME Tester. Inshallah saya sebagai Menteri Ekonomi akan bincang dengan Menteri Pertahanan untuk kita lihat produk ini dan bantu dari segi kelulusan bajet supaya boleh digunakan.
