During Canada Road Safety Week 2026, the SSPS continued proactive enforcement efforts to help keep our roads safe.
During the campaign, officers laid a total of 72 road-related offences.

SSP Marine Unit is officially back on the water. Expect to see our police boat out patrolling local waterways & promoting boat safety. Before heading out on the water, make sure you have the proper safety equipment, required documentation, & always boat responsibly.
INNISFIL - SSPS responded to a radio call in the area of Mapleview Drive and Sideroad 25. There is an increased police presence in this area, however there is no risk to public safety. An investigation is being conducted and more information will be released when available.
#WhitbyOPP Seeking Witnesses – Road Rage Incident
On Jan 14, 2026, at approx. 5:50 p.m., a road‑rage incident occurred on #Hwy401 EB before Salem Rd #Ajax, involving a white pickup truck and a black minivan.
Dog spray repellent was deployed, and a passenger suffered minor injuries.
A 41-year-old from Scarborough has been charged with:
• Assault with a weapon
• Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
• Administer a noxious thing
