Honestly, I assumed like a lot of people this Bears bill was eventually getting jammed through and Illinois taxpayers were going to take it on the chin.
Now? If this thing is really dead, it should be dead. Illinois lawmakers may have backed themselves into a win.
The Bears wanted a sweetheart deal. They didn’t get it. No consolation prize. No backdoor tax gimmicks. No “smaller ask.” No more help.
Vote no and for God’s sake give a damn about my tax bill just once!!!!!!
Tell the Bears to call Goodell, ask for money, and figure out Arlington Heights for themselves.
@chisportfan1@CHI_guy08@Chicago_NFL They had already purchased the land with out negotiating for tax certainty or infrastructure upgrades well before Warren was hired. This is squarely on Bears ownership
@Chicago_NFL Indiana is a bluff. They were never going and are never going. If they want a stadium and entertainment district then pay for
It and build it
@ChiFanJustin@CEmma670 The land was purchased without the Bears doing the proper background work before Warren was ever hired. Illinois legislators, especially Chicago representatives don’t owe the Bears any tax breaks to leave Chicago. This is all on Bears ownership. All of it.
For those who missed it: I made a playlist featuring some of my favorite music, and I’ll be updating it frequently.
If there’s one place to start exploring great music, this might be it.
