And yes, bike lanes help sustainability efforts, but there is also a huge improvement in community engagement for a walker or a biker versus a driver. When your head isn’t encased in glass its so much easier to engage with your town and neighbors. 2/2

The new separated Folsom bike lane in #Boulder is on my bike route to work - and it’s awesome. More of this throughout town would help folks feel safer jumping on their bike instead of driving. Thanks @CommunityCycles and #bouldercitycouncil 1/2

I’m at the Housing Colorado conference learning and presenting. It’s so awful that we have such a long way to go to get everyone in Colorado attainable housing. But it’s fantastic there are so many talented people working ceaselessly to get us there. #housingcoloradoconference

Throughout most of human history we designed our environments to supporting walking. For a very short period, after the car was invented, we got confused and that changed. The fact that we are focusing on walking again is not revolutionary, it’s a homecoming.

It looks like we are experiencing a level of global and local change that we haven’t seen in a long, long time - perhaps not in my lifetime. Seems a good time to remember that times of change create some of the best opportunities for positive outcome. Go make things better.
