Yesterday I ran in the South Carolina Festival of Flowers 5 mile race in Greenwood, an out and back on the Heritage Corridor. It is a fairly flat course with only one hill of note. I finished with a time of 50:24.2, my fastest time ever on this route.
I ran the Doodle Trail 15k yesterday. It starts in front of the City Hall in Easley, SC and goes up the Doodle Trail to the court house in Pickens, SC. I finished with a time of 1:44:14 and a pace of 11:11, which isn’t especially fast but I’ll take it considering the distance.
In a light mist, I ran the Oconee County Memorial Day 5k in Walhalla, SC this morning. I finished with a time of 30:41 and a pace of 9:53. This race didn’t give age group award but I was pleased with my time.
This morning I ran the Love Where You Live 10k in Spartanburg, SC. It featured a long climb up from the lake at Duncan Park to the Mary Black Trail. I finished with a time of 1:04:08.41 and a pace of 10:19. This was good enough for four place in my age group.
Yesterday I ran in the Soles For Souls 5k in Easley, SC. It was cold and threatening rain but the rain held off. I finished with a time of 30:52 and a pace of 9:57, but that was only good enough for 6th in my age group.
Yesterday I ran in the Azalea Festival 5k in Pickens, SC. I finished with a time of 30:22 and a pace of 9:46. However I only finished fourth in my age group. I have been trying to break 30 on this challenging course for a couple of years.
