Rest easy First Lt. Tyler James Feehan. Tyler was among the 3 casualties the DOW recently reported.
Our hearts go out to his family, friends and teammates.
Texas mourns the loss of Army Pvt. Isabella Gonzales of Carrollton, killed in action serving our nation in Jordan. She was just 19 years old. Her courage and sacrifice represent the very best of Texas.
Cecilia and I pray for her family, and for the family of 1st Lt. Tyler Feehan of Hawaii. Our nation is forever indebted to them both. God bless our fallen heroes, and God bless Texas.
@RayGreyfox I wouldn't care if the R&A turned water into wine. The rule is dumb. Finding the ball should generally be requisite to determine if relief is appropriate. Had someone witnessed the ball roll under a grandstand, or where the ball wasn't accessible, I'd feel different.
NBC now saying they found Scottie's first ball. But *Scottie* has to go to the ball and identify it. As far as we knew from the broadcast, with a camera on him the whole way, that never happened. This feels like R&A damage control.
@RayGreyfox You seem to want have a rules argument when I'm not debating the actual rule. I think the rule is dumb. I'm not arguing about the rule application though.
@RayGreyfox You're not responding to the original point. NBC made it sound like the ball was found. If it was, it wasn't found by Scottie. Therefore, it didn't really matter.
Also, Scottie never had to even *try* to find his ball. There were 3-4 patrons (presumably) combing around where his ball may have landed as the rules guy was talking to him next to the beer kegs. Just nuts.
Moffett threw just 4 innings at Texas.
So to recap, the A's traded Aaron Civale for a guy who has been virtually unusable for four consecutive years. Wild.
There is no end to pitching coaches thinking they can fix guys with cannons. Almost never works when guys are in their 20s. From a PBR article last year.
