@gwilkie80@HPBAac It'll probably be 2028 or 29 but we probably will take a couple of them plus a couple from the ACC. And you're right we'll get our first choices.
@William_Wildcat@gwilkie80 That's all they are. They don't back it up except once every 15 years when the stars align perfectly. Doesn't matter who the coach is or how much talent they are consistently meh.
Garbage team. All they know how to do is talk trash whether it's us or TX Tech. I guess they figure if they play us every year one of these days they may eek out a win. They don't have a culture of winning then they whine they can't get a CFP bid with 3 freaking losses.
Despite getting shut down in each of the last two years against the Buckeyes, a Texas player has decided to talk trash to Ohio State again.

@Zman0690@gwilkie80 SOR is the most accurate. They don't like it because they literally want to say a 6-6 SEC team should be in the playoff because of SOS. They think SOS is an excuse to lose and it's not. I respect the hell out of UGA and Bama but Texas is a joke.
If Texas can’t manage its schedule that’s their problem, not Tx Tech’s. Texas and the SEC made the decisions to poach/leave the Big 12 so everything they’re complaining about is their own fault.
But now they seem to want special treatment from the CFP and punishment for BYU and TT for issues they caused. That’s BS and I hope the @CFBPlayoff doesn’t cower to them. The ‘Strength of Record” metric takes into consideration both performance and schedule strength and creates an objective ranking. That objectively is fair, but the SEC demanding subjective favoritism isn’t.
Texas gets lots of extra money from being in the SEC plus more chances for a CFP bid. They don’t deserve and aren’t entitled to even more opportunity.
You don’t hear the Big Ten or our teams whining like that, and we have tougher teams in our league than the SEC does.
@gwilkie80 Are you surprised? OSU is what they think they are except we contend almost every single year, and our bad year is 10-3 vs. 5-7 for them. They may spend like OSU, but they perform like Minnesota. I was gonna say Maryland but the Terps beat them two years straight.
@gwilkie80@Ryan_DiPentima You turning in your Sparty card? I don't disagree though, their lines on both sides are basically all-star units. Hell, their entire team is an all-star unit except at QB. And I'm not sure that matters because with that OL they can just hand the ball off gain 5 ypp.
I'm reading these comments from Tennessee people and all I see is a bunch of classless Tennessee hillbillies -- including middle aged men -- calling these young ladies a bunch of vile names.
Sorry @ErinVols , but the problem isn't with the TT folks. These Tennessee fans are classless. @DeanHayes1980 is a real tough guy calling a bunch of young women names from his phone. No wonder Tennessee's players leave for other schools.
What is it with SEC teams being so low class? I'm so glad the Big Ten has higher standards than that.
@gwilkie80@DeanHayes1980@ErinVols SEC schools think NIL is only legal for them. Plus in a sport like softball they're jealous that TxTech has donors stepping up and they don't. Look at the happy TxTech coach/players and then compare to UT's miserable coach. As you said, no wonder their players leave.
@gwilkie80@orangebloods_ Especially when Texas reneged on the deal to continue their series after they ditched the Big XII. Sarkisian takes shots at them but won't play them annually when they'd be a quality opponent. He's afraid of competing against them because they've started taking recruits.
@breaux98583@gwilkie80@secnumbersguy He's full of it. The difference is the Big Ten has 3-4 teams capable of winning the CFP while the SEC hasn't had one. It used to have either a Georgia or Bama that looked unbeatable, but neither have been that good lately nor has anyone else in the SEC.
@gwilkie80@GregSankey@SEC It's hard to disagree with any of this. I know for a fact we had no interest in taking Pac 12 schools until it felt like we had to. We partnered with the other conferences to counteract what the SEC was doing. Without the SEC's action we'd still have a healthy regional P5.
Great @GregSankey . Congrats. At a time when literally everyone who follows college football thinks it's headed in the wrong direction and is irreversibly damaged, it's great that you're a super league.
Except the current mess we're in all started because of the @SEC . It started when the SEC poached Oklahoma and Texas from the @Big12Conference .
The SEC's action forced another conference to make a defensive move to stop the SEC from basically becoming a monopoly. The @bigten then poaches USC/UCLA, eventually causing the destruction of the Pac 12.
Then Sankey comes up with a plan of world domination involving the Big Ten where he can leverage the brands he's poached to threaten the Big 12 and @theACC
into submission. The not-so-veiled threat is that if those two conferences don't relinquish all decision making on the CFP, they'll get left in the dust and college sports as they knew it would be over. So he twists their arms and gets his way.
Once they give up control, he quickly comes up with a plan that not only gives the SEC roughly TWICE the CFP income per team as the B12/ACC, but basically limits them to getting one playoff team while the SEC gets 4-5. Financially, if the one Big 12 / ACC team gets $1 for it's CFP appearance, the 4-5 SEC teams each get $2 for the same appearance. This basically puts the ACC/B12 at such a disadvantage they can't really compete. The media money is part of it, but that CFP money is 100s of millions of dollars.
And now the SEC coaches are whining about Tx Tech being some kind of villain for using it's resources to level the playing field -- SEC coaches actually have the gall to suggest it's UNFAIR. How dare they use their own money to try and field competitive athletics!
But we're not done! Now Sankey has the CFP committee join the SEC Meetings so he can convince / strongarm them into believing their metrics that ranked BYU and Tx Tech so highly should be changed to more subjective criteria that benefits the SEC.
But he doesn't stop there, he also is now trying to get bids from the Big Ten by saying his own metrics show the SEC is stronger despite 3 straight years of Big Ten national titles, with the SEC not even making the title game.
The Big Ten only went along with the past SEC decisions because we had to. If we hadn't college football today would be a huge SEC and the Big Ten down with the ACC and Big 12. And now the SEC leaders are leaking to the media another veiled threat about leaving because "we're not all playing by the same rules".
The SEC, which has directly and indirectly damaged 3 power conferences and created CFP payouts that pay their teams twice what ACC/B12 teams make for the same appearance is now whining because "we're not all playing by the same rules."
College football is basically destroyed because the SEC never played by the same rules as anyone
@gwilkie80@Brett_McMurphy What fun is cfb going to be when it's only the B1G and SEC? I like non-conference games with teams in other parts of the country. Sankey is only saying this stuff now to try and get even more CFP bids for the SEC, now at the B1G's expense. @GregSankey FU for ruining the sport.
@gwilkie80@Brett_McMurphy The B1G is the best conference, period. My issue with the SEC is they started the cfb downslide by poaching Tex/OU, then they cry about their SOS. Sankey put the BigXII/ACC at such a disadvantage they can't compete, then SEC coaches complain about TTech trying to compete.
