Other thing we are seeing tonight that is a trademark of Cup-winning teams: capitalizing on opponents mistakes. Neutral zone turnovers, failed clears, bad breakouts, all ending up in the back of the net.
You can really sense why veteran experience matters in this game. Vegas down 2-0, building rocking, and they didn’t panic. Really settled into the game, got to their forecheck and it’s led to two goals this period and a 3-2 lead.
That building in Carolina is incredibly loud even on a routine regular season Tuesday. It’s on another galaxy right now and Carolina feeds off that. Early danger zone for Vegas here after the Ehlers goal.
Really excited to be part of NHL Network’s coverage of the Stanley Cup Final over the next couple of weeks. Especially excited to be back with my friend @KenDaneykoMSG on Friday for our first travel day NHL Tonight of the series.
FASTEST IN THE IVY LEAGUE.

I keep seeing posts saying Switzerland “upset” team USA yesterday and I feel like I’m screaming into a void, but that was not an upset. Have you looked at the rosters? Switzerland rolling out basically it’s same team that won silver last year and US has 0 players from Milan.
@sarjakd Matthew Tkachuk is not yet at Worlds. He did not play. Switzerland had NHL All Stars on its roster. This is no where close to the USA’s best roster. All I’m saying is if you are calling it an upset, you are not looking at the rosters.
FAMILIAR VOICES.
With a combined 11 Olympics under their belts, the Ivy League is excited to have @BillSpaulding and Craig Masback on the call for this weekend's Outdoor Track & Field Championships on @ESPNPlus! 🌿🏃
Another great night of playoff hockey ahead. Join us starting at 6 PM on NHL Network for tonight's NHL Tonight episode as we preview Carolina-Philly and Colorado-Minnesota. We'll also look ahead to Buffalo-Montreal Game 3 tomorrow and Game 4 in Vegas-Anaheim.
Heck of a game winner by Alex Newhook to win the series for Montreal. It was the series I was most looking forward to in round one and it lived up to the hype. Buffalo/Montreal should be a really fun second round series and Canadiens will have to adjust to different style quickly
@arizona60622 Even if that was the intent, I think 99% of guys see the open shooting lane and bomb away into a shot Oettinger likely saves and has a clean view of. Still an elite feel for that situation either way.
The creativity to intentionally shoot it at Lyubushkin’s skates (which you can tell by where he is looking when he shoots) while playing at that speed at such an intense moment in the game is off the charts. One of the best plays I’ve seen all playoffs.
HELLO AGAIN! 👋
Allyson Felix, the most decorated female track and field athlete in Olympic history, tells TIME that she is coming out of retirement to pursue a spot at the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics at age 42.
Her goal is to qualify for the Olympic Trials and make the relay pool. She last competed at the 2022 World Championships in Eugene, Oregon.
According to TIME, Felix pitched the idea to her brother and business partner Wes last June with a formal presentation titled "Project Six" as a reference to her attempt to make a sixth Olympic Games.
A full training schedule is set to begin in October under longtime coach Bobby Kersee.
She expects to return to competition sometime in 2027. She doesn't expect to compete regularly on the global circuit in an effort to try and stay close to her two children (7-year-old daughter Camryn and two-year-old son Trey).
Hard to describe how incredible a performance this is. He held a 4:33 mile pace through the marathon. 99% of people in the world couldn’t stick with him for even the first quarter mile at that pace.
How we got to Sub-2 📊
Sabastian Sawe’s world record of 1:59:30 at the 2026 London Marathon was achieved thanks to a massive negative split of 60:29-59:01. Sawe really made his money from 30K on, posting a 27:36 10K from 30K to 40K before picking it up EVEN MORE, closing the final 2.2K on 4:17 mile pace 🤯
In total, that’s 4:33 mile pace for just under two hours 😮💨
The 116th @DrakeRelays culminates today. Here’s what to watch for from 3-5 pm et on CBS Sports Network. It’s a true sampling of what makes this event great!
