After speaking about Freeports and Special Economic Zones at many public meetings across the UK this year and last year, one thing is astonishingly clear, people have next to no idea what these free zones are, and what negative impacts they will bring to residents and communities inside the zones.
Audiences are equally shocked to find out that Labour are backing this Tory initiative, they are wondering why these free zones barely get a mention in the MSM or during the campaigning for the GE, after all they are the main drivers of 'economic growth, right?
What they also want to know is how to stop them from becoming operational.
Firstly, I answer they must be aligned with EU State Aid rules and regulations, or the UK will be privatised if Labour continues with them.
Secondly, through grassroots activism, by organizing public meetings, by empowering your collective sovereignty (people power), by talking with your families, friends, and neighbours, and by making sure the dangers these zones pose are understood and roundly rejected across the entire country.
