Yesterday we signed a deal to help Saudi Arabia enrich uranium.

The first time the United States has ever helped another country enrich uranium on foreign soil.

The Saudis refused the inspection protocol 140 other countries accept. Too intrusive, they said.

Trump agreed. He signed a national security waiver to get around the rule.

The Saudis paid Kushner $100 million. They put $2 billion into his firm. They put another $6 billion into LIV Golf, which pays Trump properties to host its tournaments. They signed ten billion dollars in Trump-branded real estate deals in Jeddah and Riyadh. All in just the last few years.

The Perseids meteor shower has returned, and the color of each meteor reveals its composition!

Every summer, Earth travels through a trail of dust and rocky particles shed by Comet 109P/Swift-Tuttle. As these fragments burn up in our atmosphere, they produce one of the year's most impressive meteor displays.

The Perseids are currently active and will reach their peak on the night of August 12 to 13. Under perfect conditions, the shower can deliver up to 100 meteors per hour, though observers in dark rural areas typically see 30 to 50.

This year promises one of the best shows in recent memory, as the peak aligns with a new moon. Without bright moonlight interfering, even fainter meteors will be easier to spot.

What makes the Perseids especially captivating is that a meteor's color indicates the elements burning as it races through the atmosphere at around 132,000 miles per hour.

Many meteors contain multiple elements, so they may appear white or shift colors while streaking across the sky. The brightest ones often create fireballs with glowing trails that linger for seconds.

For the best viewing experience, choose a dark site away from city lights, allow your eyes to adjust for at least 20 minutes, and observe after midnight into the early morning hours.

The proportion of wages and salaries in US gross domestic income (GDI) is down to ~43%, near the lowest since records began in 1929.

Gross domestic income measures the total income earned across the economy, including wages, corporate profits, and investment income.

This metric has been in a long-term decline since peaking at ~52% in the 1940s.

By comparison, between the 1940s and the 1960s, this percentage never fell below 48%.

In other words, a larger proportion of economic income is now flowing to corporate profits and investment income, rather than pay workers.

The gap between corporate profits and labor income keeps widening.
