The Irish and Scots mixed relentlessly. Scots migrated to Ireland and intermarried and formed a cross country kingdom in 500AD. Continued Intermixing for the next 1500 years in Ulster and shared a common language for much of their shared history. Appalachia is just where those bloodlines settled in The US.

Kind of true. I guess. The Majority of the founders were Protestant English. A few Ulstermen were also present but mostly English and all Prods. First Irish Indentured Servants landed in 1654. Although, a shipwreck dated to 1626 was full of Irish Servants also. Do English, Irish, Ulster Scots.
