BREAKING: Starbucks $SBUX is closing ANOTHER 250 stores across North America.

That follows 627 closures across North America and Europe last September.

Management says these locations either can’t deliver the experience it wants or lack a path to acceptable financial performance.

The latest cleanup comes with an expected $300 MILLION restructuring charge, including $200 million in cash costs.

Meanwhile, North American same-store sales actually ROSE 8.1% last quarter, with transactions up 4.5%.

My take: customers are coming back. Now I want to see whether cutting these locations leaves Starbucks with a more profitable business.
