Measures announced by Boris Johnson, that contradicted those announced by Nicola Sturgeon, were relayed to a Scottish audience by BBC Scotland presenters. The subsequent confusion was blamed on the Scottish Govt by Unionists.

Individuals with links to Unionist parties were presented as ordinary members of the public and allowed to attack Scottish Govt measures.

The target switched from preventing spread of the virus to eroding trust in the Scottish Govt.
