A common mistake I see many ams make (even very elite ams):

Trying to hit an extremely low percentage chip/pitch shot right at the pin, miss the green, then take 3 more shots to get down.

I know it doesn't feel good, but sometimes hitting it to 15-30 feet is the best play.

You need to decrease the chances of needing 4 shots to get the ball in the hole.

Playing away from a pin when you have an EXTREMELY difficult shot is not a whole lot of fun, but it will help your scores.
