I’ve seen minimal respect for either Montreal or Buffalo as ECF opponents which is wild to me when Carolina has lost 16 of its last 17 conference finals games & is winless this season against one of its potential opponents. Not to mention razor-thin W-L margins in playoff hockey.

Maybe I’m in Twitter echo chamber but Canes fans chirp a lot for a team with recent underperforming playoff history that’s also 0-3 against Montreal this season. Historic 8-0 playoff start but making SCF isn’t your birthright just because your boogeyman isn’t there this year.

Buckeyes not being able to get ball past half court at end of game sequence is the negative of this team in a nutshell. And I’m convinced much of that reflects directly on coaching. How is an inbounds to a 7 footer passing back to inbounder the best way to get down floor quickly?

Denver not playing with enough urgency. This game may now hinge on them forcing a 3 & out on this series. They’ve showed no ability to sustain a drive since they passed up that FG in middle of second quarter. Decent chance they only get the ball for 1 more meaningful possession.

Denver’s offense needs to play aggressive. Snow favors the receivers over the defenders. Don’t run out of bounds; make the defense tackle you.

Looked like a poor spot on that 3rd down scramble. Should’ve been half-yard or a foot instead of a full yard. Wonder if Denver would’ve ran it then. Easy hindsight but forgoing a chance to make it a 2 possession game might age poorly.

Simplistic key to the game for Denver: Limit the 3 & outs on offense. Defense & pass rush holding up early but will get worn down if on the field too much. I like their chances to get consistent pressure on Maye if they’re fresh.

1. Moving Sexton created minutes which helped with Keynote’s growth & freed up playing time for younger guards.

2. Nurkic is, at the very least, a nice trade chip - if not Walker Kessler insurance for beyond this season. He’s been great helping fill the center void this season.

Too often, coaches aren’t aggressive enough with their timeouts and clock management. By managing aggressively, you can sometimes cause unforced errors from the other team.

I think the Jags should’ve taken a timeout after that pass play. Without penalties, Bills had max 8 plays left on the drive (2 full sets of 4 downs). Getting them to use 1 or maybe 2 of those plays before 2 minute warning would be big.

It’s a shame Notre Dame & Texas couldn’t play an exhibition game in a couple of weeks & call it the Crybaby Bowl. ND griping about the ACC when they’ve has accommodated them in ways it would never do for other teams is certainly a look. Especially when ND lost H2H to Miami.

Fowler said Texas “won the stats battle against Ohio State.” I forgot yards gained matter more than points scored on the scoreboard. And yards gained was even when OSU took 14-0 lead in early Q4.
