These are not the rhymes of a victim but verses of a poem penned by a judge who convicted a ‘#faithhealer’ for sexually abusing minors who used to visit him for religious lessons. #MirWajahat, #ChiefJudicialMagistrate Sopore in #Kashmir, added the above verses and titled it ‘Delay in #FIR, Delay in Justice’ to his poem –‘#WhispersofFaith, #EchoesofFear’ that he penned to conclude his 123-page judgment, reflecting the ordeal of child victims and character of the accused, #AijazAhmadSheikh whom he convicted for offences of #childabuse, after nine years of trial. The burden of shame must switch sides--from victims to perpetrators. #Judge Mir Wajahat is the #RealHero for admitting delay in #justice which is more than justice denied as it erodes trust in the justice system.

Today in #NewDelhi, key stakeholders from 9 South Asian countries—governments, law enforcement, #UN agencies, and #civilsociety—came together for a South Asia Consultation on ‘Promoting Safe Migration to Combat Trafficking.’

This consultation marks a turning point in the region’s fight against trafficking, calling for:
•Victim-centered, rights-based approach to combat trafficking
•Stronger regional cooperation
•Urgent legal & policy reforms
•Human Trafficking Registry to track, prevent & prosecute traffickers

With #JustRightsforChildren as the technical partner, the consultation organized by Association for Voluntary Action & @giz_gmbh #Germany sets the stage for real action.
