Thrilled for Binti AI to be recognized by @FastCompany as one of the 2026 World Changing Ideas.
Social workers today spend half their time on administrative work. This leads to social worker burnout which contributes to the nationwide shortage of social workers. It also takes away the time social workers could be spending directly with children and families.
Binti AI, developed in partnership with Anthropic’s AI for Good initiative, launched in August of last year. It helps automate documentation, summarize case files, transcribe meetings, and more – with early feedback reporting as high as a 75% reduction in time spent by social workers on paperwork.
We’re proud of what we’ve launched with AI and we’re just getting started. More coming soon!

Tech can radically improve government – if we let it. I wrote about this in FastCompany.
The status quo is broken. Historically, government has gone with legacy vendors that build custom software that runs over budget and over time. The average government IT project runs 310% of the original estimate, and only 13% are considered successful.
Modern SaaS offers a fundamentally different model: fast to deploy, continuously improving, and accountable through subscription pricing rather than huge upfront costs and change orders that cost more than the original project estimate.
And AI is taking this to the next level. With Binti, for example, social workers have reported up to 75% time savings per home study with our AI features.
We have a unique opportunity right now to embrace modern technology like SaaS and AI to transform how government delivers public services to communities across the country.
There’s been strong momentum in this direction across Washington D.C. and local agencies. And we at Binti are just getting started.

Anthropic highlighted Binti AI in their Code with Claude keynote.
It’s an honor to be an AI use case Anthropic is proud to showcase.
Leveraging AI and weaving it into social worker workflows in Binti has been fun and rewarding. Using AI has huge potential to save social workers time and help more children have families - we’re seeing great progress and we’re also just scratching the surface.
Proud of what we’ve done and excited for what is to come.

Family Support Services is one of the Florida agencies leading a pilot of Binti AI and recently sat down with CBS47 to talk about it.
“I have seen the evidence of permanency being achieved so much quicker using technology.” – Rachel Cuevas, FSS
Child welfare caseworkers manage hundreds of pages of forms, case notes, policies, and records for the children they serve. Binti AI helps cut through that – surfacing critical information instantly and automatically drafting paperwork from meeting recordings or handwritten notes.
Proud to continue building tools at @BintiFamily that help reduce administrative work for social workers while helping children achieve permanency, and better outcomes in general.
@BN9 recently covered how our partners at @HFCFL are using Binti AI to save time and better support children & families across Polk County.
Social workers have reported up to 75% time savings per home study through Binti AI – time they can redirect to the families they serve.
One of Heartland’s adoption specialists, Sabrina Clemmons, shared:
💬 It helps a lot because we can get home studies done quicker and we can get on to help the next child and the next family.
The Burgers are one of the families Heartland serves. They took in their adoptive son, Jaxon, when his biological mother who they knew passed away. They described the long adoption process:
💬 We need to have all of your income, we need to have all of this and all of that and then another group would come and say, ‘Hey, we need the same things that they need, but we're not connected. So we had to redo them.
This is exactly why we built Binti. There are 400K children in care nationwide and a shortage of families to support them – yet the process of becoming a foster or adoptive family is incredibly difficult. With Binti, you enter your information once and it flows automatically across your paperwork.
Proud that @BintiFamily continues supporting social workers like Sabrina, families like the Burgers, and children like Jaxon 💙

@WKYT just covered how Kentucky is using @BintiFamily Family Finding to connect children in care with relatives and family friends – known as kin.
Kentucky's team averages 17 Binti searches per day. So far, they've identified more than 150K connections for children in care and confirmed family connections for 93% of children with open searches.
In September, Kentucky hit a major milestone: more children were placed with kin than in community foster homes.
Proud of the work Kentucky is doing – and that Binti is helping support it.

Our partners at Pivotal Ventures recently joined Bloomberg to talk about their investment strategy and the care economy, including their investment in @BintiFamily .
The care economy is a $648B market – larger than the U.S. pharma industry. We all participate in the care economy at some point in our lives, and we need more modern systems and better technology to support us.
Child welfare is no exception. Families navigating foster care, adoption, reunification, and more are already facing many challenges – and they deserve to be supported by technology that makes their lives easier, not more frustrating.
At Binti, we’re grateful to get to work on building technology to help every child have a family. We’re also grateful for our partnership with Pivotal!

I recently sat down with Geri Stengel at @Forbes to talk about @BintiFamily's journey and how we managed to find product market fit in what is normally a tough space to break into – government. We talked about how Binti managed to go from $0 to $1M+ for 6 products in a row, with our latest being our AI product.
💬 Six products. Six million-dollar milestones. One market most founders won't touch. The companies positioned to win government AI contracts are not the ones with the most sophisticated models. They’re the ones already inside the system, with compliance records, outcome data, and the trust of the agencies that use them. Binti built that, in the hardest market in tech, six times over.
We’re proud of the work we’ve done to date launching software that drives outcomes and saves time across almost 50% of the country in child welfare agencies. We’re now excited to be bringing them the latest tools, leveraging AI to save social workers even more time, as we weave AI into our existing workflows with them.

Excited to announce @BintiFamily's partnership with the Commonwealth of Kentucky to help more foster youth to be placed with kin (relatives or friends of the family) and drive better outcomes for children in care statewide.
As Governor Andy Beshear shared:
💬 Every child in Kentucky deserves to be surrounded by people who love them and support them. Binti's Family Finding & Engagement tool is helping Team Kentucky do exactly that by quickly and effectively identifying relatives and caring adults who can step in, offer stability, and become part of a child's life.
In September alone – four months after their launch – more Kentucky children were placed with kin than with community foster homes, making a major milestone for the state.
They’ve continued to see great results:
✨159,650 total connections identified for children
✨3,778 Family Finding searches initiated
✨42 connections found per child on average
✨95% of children with open searches have confirmed kin connections
Proud to be working with Kentucky, grateful for their team, and excited for what’s next!

@MDHumanServices has seen a 33% increase in the portion of children in foster care living with family members and we’re proud at @BintiFamily to be part of the strategy.
Maryland achieving these outcomes is the result of a series of coordinated efforts:
✨Releasing a 2024 state law that directs child welfare staff to prioritize kinship placements
✨Creating an alternative licensing pathway for kin caregivers that removes barriers to getting licensed and accessing resource support
✨Launching Binti Family Finding to enable their staff with the tools needed to find and manage potential kin caregivers
This wasn’t just a policy update or a practice shift or a technology launch. It was all three. When policy, practice, and technology move together, real impact follows.
We’re proud to continue supporting the Maryland team, and excited to see them continue to improve outcomes for the ~3,800 children they support.

Our goal is simple: ensure every child has a safe and loving home.
This requires not just finding foster & adoptive families for children, but also providing families with the services they need to stay together.
That’s the approach our partners at FSS Suncoast have taken across Pasco and Pinellas counties.
The results are clear:
↳ All children are now placed in licensed care when needed
↳ There’s 62%+ less children in out-of-home care or being served by the system
FSS Suncoast invested in building a strong, prevention-focused team and made it easier for staff to connect families with the services they need to stay together. And they’re one of the first teams using Binti’s Service Referral Management module.
As Megan Taylor, Director of Placement and Care Coordination, put it:
💬 [Binti] is kind of a one stop shop, so we can see any pending service referrals for any child or parent, currently in and out of home case. This lets us view which providers we've submitted referrals to, the status of that referral, whether they accepted or rejected a referral.
At @BintiFamily , we remain focused on supporting this shift – from reactive intervention to proactive, relationship-centered support.

We at @BintiFamily love when our partners have ambitious goals – and when they’re excited to innovate to reach them.
Pradera is definitely one of those partners.
With the goal of doubling the number of families available to take in children in need while ensuring the process is accessible to all families, Pradera embraced Binti’s AI Translate feature.
With AI Translate, caregivers and applicants can complete forms in their preferred language, while caseworkers are able to review the translated English version.
This helps them achieve a number of things:
▶️Reduced staff time spent translating forms and overcoming language barriers
▶️Reduced translation costs for the agency overall
▶️Greater accessibility for non-English-speaking families
▶️A larger and more diverse pool of foster and adoptive families available for children
There is a real need for more foster and adoptive families in the Philadelphia area, especially after COVID when many families stopped accepting additional children into their homes. The number of homes available dropped, and that gap still exists today.
Pradera is working and innovating to address that gap – and they’re committed to ensuring a diverse range of families are available for children.
Al Día recently did a piece on Pradera’s efforts.

The federal government has been increasing its focus on the child welfare system — and for good reason.
The challenges are profound. The ~400K children in foster care experience PTSD at a rate 2x that of war veterans and 50% of them will be homeless at some point in their lives. Too many are growing without the stability and support every child deserves – and without a fair chance at life.
Meanwhile, the social workers who are doing extraordinary work everyday to support these children are overwhelmed and under immense pressure with limited resources.
I wrote this oped in GovCIO Outlook outlining how @BintiFamily's technology can help ACF’s initiative of a Home for Every Child by:
1️⃣Increasing the number of licensed homes available to children
2️⃣Reducing the number of children in care
Binti’s modules are specifically built to achieve these goals – helping social workers license more foster & adoptive families faster, find kin for children to help them achieve more stability, and refer families to the services they need to stay together.
You can read more about my thoughts on this – and what Binti is doing about it – in the recent GovCIO feature 👉 https://t.co/RSwre25WFb
I recently sat down with the SF Business Times to talk about how @BintiFamily is bringing AI to social work.
We discussed our partnership with Anthropic and the incredible responses we’ve already heard from social workers who are using Binti AI. We also talked candidly about data privacy, ethical considerations, and how we’re approaching AI in government.
And of course, we talked about the Bay Area — whether it’s still the tech hub and the best place to build a company (spoiler alert: I said yes).
