Reflections of a Lover of the Elementals
Seeking Grace through Introspection and Convivial Connection.

I wish those muthafuckers learned some natural systems theory:
NOWHERE in Nature does random diversity exist- it must always be FUNCTIONAL.
Consider that you want a more diverse garden because you've heard that will make it stronger... So you currently just have a lot of celery, because your soil tends to stay moist, which celery likes and, you like celery.
Then you hear someone is giving away a bunch of cactus from their garden and you can't resist.
Sure, I'll take them, you say, because you do have space still to plant something more.
So you starts sticking the cactus in amongst the celery and after a little while notice that they're not growing very well because the ground is too wet.
Oh no, I better make some changes so that the ground is drier for the cactus! you think to yourself. So you start digging channels in your garden to drain away the abundant moisture.
Now the cactus are doing better, but alas the celery is wilting and weakening. The conditions it was so well suited to have changed and it can no longer flourish in the dryer environment that the cactus like.
But I was told that diversity is our greatest strength, you say to yourself and sadly wonder what to do next.
As this amazing functional artist/wood craftsman shows:
Take a worn, separating, butcher block cutting board.
Use your ADHD superpowers of focus and attention to detail and, create a thing of such intricate beauty, by disassembling the piece and cutting it up, trimming and sanding it and putting it back together in new ways to create a rare and unique pattern, by exposing the end grains.
Now apply it to other objects and beyond.
Check it out. #Whitemanculture💪

July 4th is a reminder that freedom is ours intrinsically.
And the way to take back our country to take back our neighborhoods, our towns, our cities, our counties, our States.
@BasilTheGreat We know pets tug the heartstrings more than anything... Will this be the final straw that sends the native Irish to rise and eliminate from their Homeland these humans incompatible to Western culture?
For those who feel deeply the Johnny Cash version of Hurt, nettle therapy ( urtication) may be especially helpful. The UFC fighter treats is as a cleansing revitalization.
When we lived in the Ecuadorian Andes, we used to have herbal energy clearings that involved being whipped with special plants and rubbed with stinging nettles. There is definitely a revitalizing aspect!
I second that. While the nettles I have around here are the much shorter kind, I like to harvest them with my bare hands and weed as necessary.
I imagine the stinging prickles as a myriad of acupuncture points, stimulating my meridians, my circulation, my chi.
It raises a certain heat in the hands, but eventually subsides and, is certainly gone by the next day.
I imagine it is akin to therapeutic bee stings...
Wow these evil White nationalists who are 50 strong on the DC metro allowed this black lady to sit in peace and reach her destination safely. Probably the safest subway trip she's ever taken.
Notice how they didn't stab her in the neck or harass her or anything?
This is the most America stuff I’ve seen.
This why I laugh at the GI Joe Bros yelling about “Civil War”. 😂😂😂
Any enemies that are organized enough in this country currently will be dealt with quickly.
Happy 4th you Salty Bastards. 🫡😂🇺🇸
The dappled light filtering through the canopy of leguminous trees like the black locust is more than beautiful—it reveals purposeful design.
Those delicate, compound leaves create a shifting mosaic of sun and shadow that gently invites other plant species to germinate and thrive—species that might otherwise struggle or scorch in the full light of an open meadow.
We often call these nurse or pioneer species. Black locust and honey locust not only offer this filtered light, but as legumes they partner with soil microbes to fix nitrogen, steadily building fertility for future generations. They can be thorny too—tough, resilient, and sometimes aggressive in their spread.
This is the quiet wisdom of permaculture: every element carries specific functions.
When we observe and understand those purposes, we can place each one where it belongs—creating systems that nourish life across time.
On this 4th of July, it’s worth remembering that our country also owes a great deal to its human pioneers. Like these trees, they were often thorny and uncompromising—facing harsh conditions, clearing ground, and preparing the soil (sometimes literally) so that later generations could put down deeper roots and flourish. Not always gentle, but essential to the living system we inherited.
What pioneer functions—plant or human—are you noticing and honoring today?
We are only $7,293 away from reaching $100k before the 4th of July 🇺🇲$500 short for this month. Our posts keep getting suppressed because we help children and veterans. I've been living on an equestrian facility for over a year now and it's such a blessing to be able to visit with the horses, especially in the evening time when everybody is gone and I can just * be* with them, standing nose to nose.
I've honestly heard a couple of them speaking to me telepathically, validated by what their subsequent actions showed...
I was inspired to write this song: https://t.co/8u03iE9Rk0
