We're proud to support the fantastic Phoenix School Program, which diverts #STEM equipment destined for disposal to schools in need. We've just donated quantities of more than 85 of our lab products to 5 schools! https://t.co/Db9Pzn1pvQ #scienceweek#merckanz#sustainability
In Melbourne and interested in #SynBio ? Check out our meetup on the 26th of July. An opportune time to talk Assembly Standards, iGem/AusSynBioChallenge, and check out some of our projects @BioQuisitive

Ever wondered how laxatives could transform your... transformation protocols? Matt at BioQuisitive did! On the hunt for economical alternatives to Polyethylene Glycol (PEG)4000 used in many transformation protocols… https://t.co/Lp2TALRYfI
Bioquisitive is working with @thebiofoundry And Biobase to investigate new and cheaper diagnostic tests to identify covid19 infections. Using RT-LAMP, we're hoping to validate faster and cheaper tests! Stay tuned… https://t.co/Lc8d14qVX8
We're getting ready for round 2! With one protocol investigated with the LBP we've got two more critically endangered species to try and investigate potential molecular ecology surveying techniques for, the Greater… https://t.co/vjzksShgMS
Really excited for how this tardigrade incubator is turning out! Pumps for food, water, waste and air. Closer and closer to tardigrades on tap <3 Will upload all stl, svg, py, and ino files once this is done. Goal is… https://t.co/Sbldoj5KXB
@AverageJoeMike @spud01au@JAYTEEAU Thanks heaps everyone! List of things I'll probably work on is nozzle cleaning, fillament change, extrusion speed. Maybe play with 210C?
@AverageJoeMike @spud01au@JAYTEEAU Initially I was using a business card to level, then I swapped to a piece of paper, not sure of its too close. I kept adjusting the leveling screws until the brim stuck to the bed.
@JAYTEEAU@Pinsyd1 I've printed a few things since! Also the nozzle extrudes about 1cm on its own once coming to temp, is that normal? Thanks for the suggestions and tips. Grabbing some new fillament and cleaning tools for the nozzle. I'll see if I can find the extruder settings next I'm in.
@JAYTEEAU Currently using Cura, with a custom profile for the cocoon create touch. 0.4mm nozzle, 200C for PLA, haven't braved the advanced settings yet. Printing 0.1mm layer height, 10% infill, this pic is 20% infill, raft +0.2mm layer, not much better.
Custom tanks + DIY microscope optics based on the open flexure microscope optics module. Using a long working distance objective so we can see lil protozoa we decide to grow at a depth of 13mm. Next addition will be… https://t.co/sOOP7MGr52
@JAYTEEAU privy to any common mistakes newb printers face with these types of printers? Thanks again for the set up! We've printed an air manifold for our algae bioreactor with it. Works great <3
@JAYTEEAU nah, not yet! still trying to tweak it to get better quality prints. Does okay on the smaller prints, but the bigger surface area ones seem to have issues with layers falling apart. Found some guides on how to improve prints! This was off another printer :)
We did it! Incredible, after many months of lab work we managed to successfully extract and amplify leadbeater possum DNA from soil. These aren't the brightest bands, and we have a bit of optimisation to do but we got… https://t.co/dK7zc1SKkh
