Pistol shrimp can be cryptic, but this little guy came out to explore today. Pistol shrimp get their name from the way they hunt their prey; they create a bubble bullet that stuns or kills their prey by snapping their larger claw shut with a huge amount of force.

Added some live rock to the urchin tank to simulate their natural environment and keep the tank healthy. This morning I found a few new critters in the tank. It's becoming a mini ecosystem!
