"Repair is when you fix something that’s already broken. Maintenance is about making something last."
Enjoyed this essay on maintenance as a possible environmental ethos.

At night, when the lab is empty and no one is looking, the Parafilm just sits there, doing nothing, because it's not alive and can't go on secret adventures.
Live-Seq is the new frontier in single-cell transcriptome profiling. Elegantly sucking some RNA out of a live cell without killing it... and sequiantially doing it again.!. Mind-blowing tool 🤯 by @BartDeplancke in @Nature!

We used scRNAseq to explore the larval CNS across development. We identified all known progenitor cell types and found a pool of quiescent neuroblasts. We show these as transcriptionally primed to respond to the insulin pathway and adjacent glial signaling.https://t.co/UxZYgLU3L2
The Ackerman lab is open! While I have been anxious about so many things over the past couple of weeks (re: the world), I am excited today to begin to do our part, however large or small, to make this world a better place. Stay tuned for much more! https://t.co/eAYfSpXQb4
If I had a dollar for every car than ran a red on Franklin Blvd, I would have enough to pay for my funeral after getting hit crossing that street. PSA, take the sky bridge even on sunny mornings!
