The bacteriophage is the deadliest being on earth, specialized in killing bacteria. On the October page of the 12,023 calendar is a phage attacking an E.Coli bacterium.
As antibiotic-resistant bacteria are a major threat to us, phages could become our allies in fighting them.

Haven't signed up for the 2nd Young @AMICImicrobiome Symposium? I'm shocked and hurt, just look at this cool program (obviously including a #phage session)! But never fear, you can still sign up until Friday by emailing [email protected]
Calling all #microbiology enthusiasts! @AMICImicrobiome is hosting a symposium for early career researchers about all things #microbiome inlc. a #phage session! This is a great opportunity for PhDs and Postdocs to present their work and network with fellow researchers!
Very excited to be co-organizing this year's Young AMICI Symposium!
Session topics include:
- Plant microbiome
- Microbiome interactions/ Molecular interaction in the microbiome
- Food system/ food microbiome
- Phages
- Applied computational methods in microbiome research

Thanks to all who joined our SG meeting at ECCMID23 & online - great to see familiar and new faces. It will be a big year for phage therapy and other non-traditional antimicrobials! 🦠🦾💊

Phage therapy is getting more common, but following phages & bacteria during the process (to see who wins!) is pretty rare. I've been diving into using qPCR to count phages & bacteria in patient serum samples lately—here's a window into my adventures! 📈🤷♀️https://t.co/qFGjXWbHsh
For those who miss having a Reviewer #2 in your life — I built this just for you! Get (fake) Reviewer #2 to look at your manuscript before a real one does. (Or get Yoda to do it!) https://t.co/PMCpEmu2Ks
First day as a #PhD student and so far I forgot my coffee at home, missed my stop on the metro and my computer crashed three times.
It can only go uphill from here!
Only 2 days until the ESGNTA Meet-the-Expert Session w/ Nina Chanishvili & Gunnar Kahlmeter on "Harmonisation of #phage susceptibility testing". Access is granted w/ @ECCMID registration or register here: https://t.co/WbKNN5OVoW
