For us at Bir Terraces, this date lives gently in our hearts. We often guide guests who feel called — not to sightsee, but to sit. To listen. To return to themselves.
Because as Maharaj-ji said,
“The heart never speaks, but you must listen to it.”
It’s the pran pratishtha day of Kainchi Dham a temple not built for spectacle, but for stillness.
Founded in 1964 by Maharaj-ji — as devotees lovingly called Baba Neem Karoli this quiet haven became a place where people came not to be dazzled, but to be seen. To be held.
The dham rests beside a river that hums like a hymn.
Here, devotion doesn’t shout. It breathes through silence, prasad, and the soft rustle of prayer flags.
Every year, on this day, thousands gather not for miracles, but to say thank you. For presence & love.
Over the years, seekers from across the world have made their way here. Not drawn by fame or rituals, but by the peace. And lingers long after you leave.
Some came as strangers.
Some left as storytellers.
But everyone left a little more whole.

Today marks the start of the monsoons (Shravan) in the mountains, commemorated by celebrating the festival of Harela.
It is a festival of greenery, peace, prosperity and a very important festival for agricultural communities in the Kumaon.
Happy Harela! 🪴

It's all good.
We've been grateful for your DMs.
Nature finds its own way. Incessant rains have hit North West India and the Himalayan states have taken a huge brunt of the wrath of nature. Our thoughts and prayers go out to our neighbouring mountain state of Himachal Pradesh.
Ascending the beautiful wooden staircase of our
rustic mountain home.
The intricate woodwork and design seamlessly blend with
nature, with large windows overlooking our beloved Bayberry
tree. The cool breeze, sweet birdsong, and glimpses of
pine-laden forests in the distance..

Two little souls, one big friendship, and a breathtaking view to

The beauty of the melting sun embraces them, mirroring the
pure innocence and unconditional love they share.
A glimpse of the Blood Moon we captured today!
Spiritually speaking, full moon periods are extremely cleansing and denote change. On this day of the full moon coupled with the eclipse, we hope for enlightenment, peace and harmony!
