@JackieDP it's interesting the manner in which the Macfarlane Trust has been shut down and that THT has taken over monies left and so called loans to vulnerable people, it will be interesting to see what the Inquiry makes of the situation with certain documents now avaliable
Well done tonSir Brian and the team but proves a point that neither Sir Robert or david Foley thought is was worth their while to attend ! Proves the point about listening !
Whilst there has been recent progress in the number of infected people being invited to apply for compensation, there remain serious inadequacies with the IBCS. The speed and tone deaf aspects of the scheme are causing anxiety & distrust within the infected blood community.
A dedicated psychological support service for people infected and affected by contaminated blood and blood products in England has launched today. Anyone impacted – including family members – can refer themselves to the service by phoning 0300 131 0444.

A year on from the Infected Blood Inquiry's report: Families, charities and campaigners call on government to honour its recommendations and deliver a fair compensations scheme for everyone who suffered.

One year ago today we were buoyed by Sir Brian Langstaff's Final Report. How full of hope we all were and what a pity promised compensation has been so illusive for the majority since then. We await with interest feedback from the Paymaster General's review of the problem areas.
Thank you to Sir Brian Langstaff and team for their efforts to shine a light on the inadequacies of the IBCS and the Government's approach to compensation for the infected blood community.
Sir Brian Langstaff’s continued support for infected blood victims is very welcome. Let’s hope this helps ensure the IBCS refocuses on the community they are supposed to be helping.

.@bloodinquiry will reopen hearings in May to investigate concerns about lack of progress on compensation. Chair, Sir Brian Langstaff, said the unusual decision 'reflects the gravity of the concerns expressed consistently, and repeatedly, to the inquiry'. https://t.co/0zTEnWm7fI
So now we have a great patronising video from the new Macfarlane trust showing how those HIV or co infected may expect to be treated in the next 25 years when they may have a chance to claim ! Just DO YOUR JOB !
Senior politicians, including @AndyBurnhamGM, @Jeremy_Hunt and @EdwardJDavey, demand government speed up compensation for the victims of the contaminated blood scandal who may have to wait another four years to to be paid. #BloodyDisgrace
IBCA is the Macfarlane Trust full of lies and ignorance with no compassion for the infected at all just hide behind statistics which probably wouldn't bare up under scrutiny !
Big questions still remain over how/when £11.8bn of compensation will be paid to victims and relatives in the infected blood scandal
Some being driven to "distress" and "despair", still feeling they are "in limbo" after decades of fighting for answers https://t.co/zJ67RYv2rz
'As a charity on the frontline of support, we see the damaging impact of the anger, confusion and despair caused by uncertainty over the government’s compensation scheme.' Kate Burt, our chief executive welcomes @bloodinquiry intervention on compensation.

@HaemoSocUK_PI@katehaemophili1 All Haemophilliacs infected with HIV should be classed under "unethical testing etc" it's a disgrace and it's contrary to inquiry, shows how little they even care about the content of the report !
The Government has announced more people will be able to claim compensation for the infected blood scandal thanks to new regulations being laid before Parliament this week and expected to take effect by the end of March. Read our thoughts here:

We are concerned that in the public eye this is seen as a done deal, but there are still significant hurdles to clear before we have a compensation scheme that genuinely reflects the suffering and loss this scandal has caused.
