Although one photo looked to have pale tip on bill hard to pick out in field. And whiter cheeks than you would expect on bng. In flight not seen by me the bird didn’t show any white on forearm.

Today’s reported Slav turned out to be black necked grebe when it came in closer. Didn’t stay long as flew out of the estuary. @teesbirds1 @nybirdnews

Yes a lot of discussion about this bird. I put it out as Slav. The bird was leaping out of the water diving like a bng. Looked small compact on closer views with dark cap coming down around the eye. Only slightly up turning of the bill. Fluffy rear end.
