Monitoring of Fairy tern population on Amédée islet.

💚 Join us in welcoming @WSCCMongolia to the BirdLife family!
We are delighted to have @WSCCMongolia join us as our 123rd BirdLife Partner. Their work towards conserving birds and other wildlife in Mongolia is unmatched 🪶
Mongolia sits at a crucial point for two of our planet’s greatest flyways, the East-Asian Australasian Flyway, and the Central Asian Flyway. Its boundless steppes and waterways provide important stopover and summer breeding sites for migrating birds. These species and habitats are what WSCC has worked to protect for the last 20 years.

Regarding the recent increase in deforestation rate and in hunting pressure here in New Caledonia, there is no justification for downgrading the New Caledonian imperial pigeon from NT to LC. 😱
This endemic species is probably even declining

Very inspiring for our own projects here in New Caledonia dedicated to the search and conservation of New Caledonia and Polynesian storm petrels breeding sites
'Ake'ake (Hawaiian band-rumped storm-petrel) decoys & artifical burrows for social attraction on the Nā Pali coast of Kaua'i! Nesting mostly on inaccessible cliff-faces, they are the most mysterious & least-studied breeding seabird in Hawai'i.
Bird Conservation New Caledonia just held its Annual General Meeting. 2023 was a very rich year, with many projects with strong partnerships locally and in the Pacific.
Many thanks to our 40 volonteers & members, our wonderful team and the partners that support us !
Thomas Hue, our vet, is taking part to the "Far in the future health" event in Melbourne thanks to @FranceAustralia & #AFRAN talking abour avian influenza impact on seabirds in the Pacific

Our organisation @BirdCaledonia welcomes and supports the very inspiring approach developed by @SenatCoutumier and @ConservationOrg around the "Kanak vision of the Ocean", which can make a substantial contribution to the protection of marine biodiversity in New Caledonia.
@BirdCaledonia welcome the publication of the 2nd edition of the Code of Environment of the #LoyaltyIslands Province including traditional knowledge and totem species
