Varied Thrush! Vagrant bird visiting NYC from the west coast!
My apologies to the tired dad on the playground with his toddler at 8:30am while a dozen birders pointed giant cameras in his general direction. New York is like that sometimes…
Pulled a Veery from the Dell Water mud where it was trapped up to its neck. It seemed uninjured - we successfully transported to Wild Bird Fund for cleaning. Hoping this update gets to the other birders who helped save this little guy earlier today ❤️🩹@BirdBrklyn@BirdCentralPark
#flaco continues in the south end of Central Park. It seems that he likes freedom. And maybe he likes squirrels too.
#flaco continua en el extremo sur de Central Park. Parece que le gusta la libertad. Y tal vez también le gusten las ardillas. #birdcpp@BirdCentralPark
The ultra-rare Townsend's Warbler is prolonging its stay at Fort Greene Park, enjoying the finest menu that Brooklyn can offer. Video from today by Gus Keri
West coast vagrant, the Townsend’s Warbler, enjoying the day in Fort Greene Park this afternoon! A lifer! Popped up frequently in the trees on the hill by the Willoughby/Washington Park entrance. As they say, follow the birders for great company and sightings! @BirdBrklyn
