Longtime casual birder who started seriously birding and listing at the start of 2022. I've seen 279 bird species since then. All photos by me, except RTs.
@baggins_bow Southern Wisconsin, about 45 minutes from home. Unusual but not unheard-of visitors here, a small flock of them was hanging out at a prairie for a week or so last month before they moved on.
@baggins_bow Bummer. We typically don't get a lot of them here in southern Wisconsin, but this migration cycle we've had more than usual and I finally got to see one earlier this month after coming close last year (heard nearby but didn't see).
@baggins_bow Went birding along a biking/hiking trail to look for a Yellow-breasted Chat that was reported there this morning. Had to be patient, but I eventually saw the lifer!

I've yet to get that vax, so I guess I have those lovely side effects to look forward to when I do.
As you said, still better than getting shingles!
Wife really testing my love by being on West Coast without me (work trip) and racking up lifers just by walking back and forth from hotel to conference center.
Here's a phone photo of a Brown Pelican she just sent me.
