One of those most incredible WTF!! moments I have witnessed in 41 years birding at Belvide. I was just about to go home but decided to pop in the West End Hide to count the Wigeon. Didn't think I'd be counting 8 White-rumped Sandpipers instead. Patch birding at it's best.

WOW!! The busiest day at #nguliaringing in years! 2,438 #birds ringed! 1,113 Marsh Wblrs, 403 Sprossers, 378 Whitethroat, 392 Swallows. Also 51 River Wblr, 2 Basra Reed, 1 Gldn Oriole, 1 Pied Wheatear, a 'Bog Thrush' (any guesses what it is?!), a Euro Swift & A FOURTH Corncrake!

Onto Scilly today - managed to squeeze 5 days on after initially not thinking I’d make it this year.

Started the trip well with 2 Whooper Swans flying over the airfield at Lands End - headed east @CornwallBrdNews

A pelagic on Sunday from the North Island. 21 species in total but cane across a krill swarm and over 200,000 birds in attendance. The guides were even excited as nit seen such high numbers. Bulwers Petrel, Fluttering Shearwater and Fairy Prinion

Arrived back from Botswana this morning to hear of news of a Spotted Redshank at Upton Warren (flashes). Managed to connect! My first here since I was a young kid! Still present 11:45

@GrahamDeacon12 @BTO_Wilts @WiltsBirdClub Funny. I was in the Maasai Mara a few weeks ago. Still huge numbers of palearctic migrants there then - especially Yellow Wags. There’s been massively abnormal rainfall in east Africa this year since Jan. I guess may well have delayed migration through that section!
