On Friday, we proudly authenticated the keels for the first three cutters in the Coast Guard’s new "Chief's Class" of Waterways Commerce Cutters: the future CGC Allen Thiele, CGC Fred Permenter and CGC Samuel Wilson.
These cutters are vital for maintaining the Marine Transportation System, which supports over $5.4 trillion in economic activity.
