@waterkeepermark This is a very well written, clear, important article that needs broad circulation. I would like to see it run as an opinion piece in the Globe and Mail.
@TWC_Wildlife@SmytheParkTO And be proactive: If you have large windows or glass guards that are prone to bird strikes, install bird friendly markers to the outer surface of the glass. We just did that with a product produced by Feather Friendly. They make several dot patterns: https://t.co/sioEv2QpQT
$1.2 million per day, while so many Ontarians can't find an affordable place to call home, or access the care they need.
That's on top of $3B for cheques to millionaires, $2.2 to gut Ontario Place, $10B for Highway 413 and billions more for a tunnel.
Ford's wasteful spending is inexcusable.
The Toronto western Lake Ontario waterfront from Ontario Place to Humber River has been plagued for decades by untreated sewage and it is only getting worse. Time for a change. The Case for Toronto’s Western Beaches — Swim Drink Fish @swimdrinkfish https://t.co/eu56TiD84d
Such privilege to live here! To know this is to care about the health of our Great Lake and the waterways and systems that flow into it.
Monitoring provides the data we need for informed action.
Toronto is world’s largest fresh water city. With Oak Ridges Moraine to North, 9 rivers in city & Great Lake to south, Toronto has responsibility for fresh water protection. Let’s Advocate for Real-Time Monitoring of sewage overflows. @swimdrinkfish https://t.co/hDpS6fGZ25
How do you create a swimmable waterfront? You upgrade your water infrastructure and eliminate combined sewer overflows that discharge sewage and stormwater during rain. Pretty simple — not sure how Toronto can’t focus on its number one environmental problem. @swimdrinkfish
The water in the Humber River is very low right now & salmon are stuck in pockets where it is a bit deeper. It also smells of dead fish. Cancel Hwy 413 bc it will make the water in the Humber even more shallow. No more salmon migration for an unnecessary highway? Stop hwy 413!
Please take a moment and sign this letter to preserve the Science Centre for our communities and in respect of architect Raymond Moriyama’s great legacy. Demolishing the OSC makes not sense socially, ecologically, nor financially. https://t.co/iPBQKfaGqa
The Ford Conservatives have destroyed a public forest & park in order to give this valuable waterfront property to a private Austrian Corp to build a mega spa in a 95 year lease.
It's a scene of devastation that 190 bird species, fox, mink, & beavers used to call home.

Smythe Park is part of the Humber River watershed. Black Creek is highly polluted and floods badly. Highway 413 will make it worse. Stop highway 413 and the Bradford Bypass! It will have massively bad effects on Toronto and Mississauga.
