i was never a leaver. when i love, i stay. i fight, i try, i give everything i can. i don't walk away just because things get hard, and i don't disappear when feelings get real. i've always been the type who holds on, not the one who lets someone go. if i stepped back, it wasn't because i wanted to leave. it was because i had no place left to stay. and even then, it wasn't easy. letting go never felt like relief, it felt like losing a part of myself.
The best way to honour someone who did a lot for you but regressed into someone you can no longer respect, is to remember the best version of them and be thankful for what they did for you. Even if they ultimately failed you, they gave you a great gift as proof of their love.
A relationship should be a place where you can actually be yourself. You should be able to talk freely, tell your partner when you’re hurt, ask for what you need, disagree, change your mind, laugh, cry and have difficult conversations without feeling like you’re going to be punished for it. That’s what comfort with someone should look like.
No matter how hard things get, I will NEVER let anyone convince me I'm crazy, unhealthy, or insecure for having a NORMAL reaction to their HURTFUL behavior.
One of the downsides of being an emotionally intelligent person is that u will be able & willing to see & understand things from everyone else's point of view, but ppl are rarely capable or willing to give that same grace of understanding towards u, which is frustrating at times.
No one talks about how draining it is when your mood is constantly switching between 'its okay, I don't care, I'll be okay' and 'I don't know how much more I can take'
PLEASE avoid eggshell type of relationships, can't express yourself, can't be yourself, can't be straight forward, can't be comfortable, can't talk like adults, can't be heard, can't respond with love without it actually turning into something negative...
You learn a lot about someone by what they do after they hurt you. some people apologize. some reflect. some actually change. and some rewrite the whole story so they never have to admit they were wrong. that part tells you everything.
i no longer internalize people disliking me when i have never done anything to warrant their ill feelings because i understand that their contempt towards me either stems from projection, envy, or misunderstanding. whatever it may be, i don't care to change their mind
