Health Equity means every birthing person should have access to safe childbirth, yet that is not the case. In MA, life threatening & fatal complications associated with labor & delivery have increased, w/ Black women experiencing the highest mortality rates.

The Healey-Driscoll and DPH report on maternal health is out! We're so thankful for @massgovernor and @MassDPH for calling for more access to midwives and birth centers. This includes reimbursing midwives equitably, updating regulations to make birth centers easier to open and
@MassGovernor@MassDPH sustain, and licensing Certified Professional Midwives. The recommendations from this report are also the result of years of advocacy by clinicians, birth workers, community advocates, and lawmakers. Thanks to our partners in advocacy and action @baystatebirth@massmidwives
