Birth justice ensures equitable access to safe, respectful, and supportive childbirth experiences for all individuals, regardless of their background. It addresses disparities in maternal and infant health, seeks to ensure that everyone has equitable access to a dignified birth.
During our initial community meetings in 2022, we listened to personal stories from birthing Minnesotans about their experiences. We then explored and documented a variety of impacts of racism during the prenatal and postpartum periods.
