Could there be a big change coming? What would happen if CTGs were no longer accepted as legal evidence? #CTG#CTG#Daubert#Medicolegal#ParadigmShift https://t.co/eAX9JUZge5
The attack on midwives in the UK,&the attempts to shut down the Normal Labour&Birth conference &put pressure on speakers to withdraw is frankly disigusting. Please support these consumers&midwives fighting back&sign the petition below #ENOUGH https://t.co/9LeflU77XT
A small but important Australian ultrasound study by @drpameladouglas and @uwa_hlrg finds that using the #gestaltbreastfeeding method to improve attachment can alter babies tongue movements and improve #breastfeeding outcomes https://t.co/Pw5vcZ6FqQ
@abcperth@NadiaMits Roger Cook said that you can choose your own midwife if you go private. This is not exactly true. However you can have your own midwife at KEMH. Maybe if the MGP model was available at all public hospitals it might take some of the demand of KEMH?
@RogerCookMLA You can’t choose your own midwife at any private hospitals in Perth but you can get allocated to a known midwife at KEMH. It’s called MGP. Maybe if you rolled this out to all other public hospitals it would take some of the demand off KEMH.
I think there could be a real positive of #covid as the medical world finally admits pregnancy women are healthy and should stay away from hospitals. https://t.co/aX6p9fJMnJ
Undisturbed birth means limit the use of interventions and offer low-technology models for mother and baby (midwifery and doula care included). - Sarah Buckley #GOLDPerinatal2019#IAMGOLD
@abcperth So why ask Dr Gannon to comment on this 🤷♀️ Why not look at the research that shows continuity of care from a known midwife mean women are 24% less likely to experience preterm birth and 16% less likely to lose their babies among other benefits.
It’s time to start asking midwives to comment on birth not obstetricians. OBs are surgeons and the experts in pathology not physiology. @westaustralian @rhianna_king https://t.co/L5wHjmIzgw
@larissawaters it is not fair to expect mums to succeed at breastfeeding if we have disrupted the physiological hormones of childrearing during her birth.
I am sure @SarahJBuckley would love to chat to you about this.

@larissawaters whilst I absolutely agree something needs to be done to help women reach their breastfeeding goals, we need to start with ’Physiological Birth Friendly’ hospitals and increased access to continuity if care with a known midwife models of care.
@RogerCookMLA@MidwivesACM Privately Practicing Midwives want insurance not exemptions!
Oh and, after 9 years, WA PPMs want the EPPM model implemented as in other States. https://t.co/HRICUO9bHY
