Some fascinating tidbits from USCIS in litigation that may provide insights into the #backlog in adjudications across USCIS filings. Did you know that there was a hiring freeze at USCIS between May 1, 2020 and March 31, 2021? Well, I didn't.

Sooo because of the hiring freeze and $500 million in budget cuts, support staff at the National Benefits Center was reduced by 1,000.

As of June 30, 2023, there are still approximately ninety-four vacant positions at the National Benefits Center.

The highest case number from #Nepal for the #DV2020 whose visa was issued was 13351. For #DV2021 looks like case numbers above 4200 are being treated as a higher CN.
