@DHE_Odisha assigns SSB lecturers the responsibility of teaching degree students, yet places them at ₹4,600 Grade Pay—the school-teacher grade-pay level.
The injustice lies in denying college teachers parity with their counterparts performing equivalent work.
When corresponding non-teaching posts in Government and Aided institutions enjoy parity in designation and grade pay, what constitutionally valid reason justifies excluding SSB lecturers?
Article 14 prohibits arbitrary discrimination. Article 39(d) directs the State towards equal pay for equal work. Where duties and responsibilities are equivalent, unequal pay without a rational justification violates the constitutional guarantee of equality (SSB Lecturers have also UGC Prescribed qualification).
“As per the advertisement” cannot, by itself, answer a constitutional challenge. The Government must justify the classification—not merely repeat it.
OSLA demands that the Odisha Government publish its justification, rectify unjustified pay disparity and ensure designation and pay commensurate with college-level responsibilities.

Happy Gandhi Jayanti to all.
On the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhiji, OSLA beleives in Ahimsa, Satyagraha and constitutional means of protest. OSLA has never believed that violence, can be the path to justice.
Even when SSB Lecturers have felt deeply disappointed by decisions of the Department of Higher Education, Government of Odisha, we have chosen dialogue over confrontation and constitutional protest over violence.
Our struggle is not against any individual. Our struggle is for equality, dignity and fair treatment.
OSLA has consistently raised serious concerns regarding the treatment of SSB Lecturers in the light of the constitutional principles embodied in Articles 14 and 16 and Article 39(d), as well as the standards governing college teachers under the UGC Regulations, 2018.
When we question unequal treatment, pay disparity, designation and service conditions, we do so through representations, democratic protest, dialogue and lawful constitutional remedies.
Following the path shown by Gandhiji, OSLA will continue to raise its voice—peacefully, democratically and constitutionally—until its grievances are considered.
On this Gandhi Jayanti, our message is simple to @DHE_Odisha
No Violence.
Only Truth, Constitutional Rights & Justice.
अहिंसा हमारा मार्ग है।
संविधान हमारी शक्ति है।
न्याय हमारा अधिकार है।

@sudhirchaudhary You and your like minded people are ruined our country. Shame on you. Sudharjao.....
BE A JOURNALIST NOT A Agent of any political party or government.
It is considered that educational institutions are independent institutions. It's unfortunate to quote the present conditions, they way educational institutions and their officials politically defending govt.

Shame on you mainstream media.
Thanks to independent media and content creators covering up the news for the people.

On 19 May 2026, DHSE Odisha issued an official clarification on Principal-in-Charge appointment & seniority based on the 2024 Govt Gazette guidelines. Surprisingly, within just 5 days, the same order was withdrawn.

#EducationCrisis in Odisha
Over 20,000 Lecturers in Odisha are working without pay while DHE remains silent.
This is not a delay. This is systemic failure and administrative apathy.
You expect quality education, but deny basic financial dignity to Lecturers?
#Doubleengine
This is not policy — this is discrimination in its PUREST FORM.
Denying period leave for aided college women employees is not just negligence — it is inhumane and discriminatory.
Equal dignity. Equal rights.

Government of Odisha has taken a welcome step by regularising Junior Teachers and granting them a justified GP.
But, how long will SSB Lecturers continue to be exploited in Odisha?
When justice is delivered to one section,
why is another left behind?
#SSBlecturers#Odisha
2016 SSB lecturers have completed 8+ years of service, yet promotion to Senior Lecturer (Group-A) under the Odisha Non-Govt. Aided College Lecturers’ Placement Rules, 2014 is still pending. Over 1.5 years of delay is unacceptable and administrative negligence by @DHE_Odisha.
Same Group-C Level-4 pay scale.
Same recruitment process.
But if posted in Non-Govt. Aided Colleges: No HRA, No Leave Encashment, No other benefits ??
This is nothing but institutional discrimination.
We ask why? How this can happen?
Again WHY?
