She Fought to Live, But She Also Prepared to Leave
October 1st will probably never be an ordinary date for me again.
On October 1st, 2025, my younger sister eventually went home to rest.
Her battle had been long. She fought to live until the very end, and I was privileged to be with her through thick and thin.
It started in 2022 when she was diagnosed with Systemic Lupus Erythematosus, SLE. She spent about a month in the hospital, was eventually discharged, and got better.
Then, in 2024, the sickness struck again.
This time, it was much more intense.
Her kidneys were severely affected. From the medical information available to us at the time, her kidney function had deteriorated drastically.
Then came the difficult days.
There were mornings when she would vomit even after drinking water.
There were times she would eat and vomit shortly afterwards.
There were days she could barely eat at all.
There were moments when breathing became difficult.
At one point, her sight was seriously affected.
There were countless nights without proper sleep.
And I was there.
I stayed with her on the hospital bed. I bathed her. I cleaned her. I watched her struggle.
There was one terrible night in particular when she could not sleep at all.
Those memories have stayed with me.
In fact, whenever I remember her, one of the first things that comes to my mind is not even her death.
It is everything she went through before it.
I Truly Believed She Would Survive
I trusted God for her healing.
She also wanted to live.
We prayed.
We fasted.
At some point, we spent months in a church environment praying day and night. Even in her condition, she fasted and sought God.
Earlier in 2025, there was a period when she needed oxygen around the clock while we were in the hospital.
Then October 1st came.
On her final day, she was again on oxygen.
At a point, her blood pressure was no longer reading.
We prayed.
We prayed desperately.
And after several frightening minutes, she became responsive again.
What happened afterwards is something I will never forget.
She told us that she had seen hell.
Then she said something that has remained with me ever since.
She did not want to suffer here on earth and still end up suffering in eternity.
Eventually, on October 1st, 2025, she went to rest.
One Thing Her Death Taught Me
I wanted healing.
I prayed for healing.
I believed God for healing.
But I also learned something through everything that happened.
God is still God when life does not end the way we prayed for.
I had to learn to trust Him even when I did not understand.
And today, more than anything, her story reminds me that our time here is limited.
A day will come when every one of us will leave this world.
For some, it will come after a long life.
For others, much earlier than anyone expected.
Whichever comes first, the question remains the same.
Are we ready?

This Minna-NSCDC horror cell and the dead children affects me so much I can feel my heart actually hurt.
Like my chest hurts. To imagine the horrors and many others that suffered before this came out.
Nigeria is a huge crime scene. 💔
Medical Doctors in the house, this is his medical report.
The boy is my nephew, so I know every thing about his case, we've been praying and hoping for a miracle, but with the recent happening last week I've been very worried.
He was born with three holes in his heart.
This is Jazeel a 6 year old with three holes in his heart.
His mother sent his picture to me, see blood in his eyes, I cried when I saw the picture, because I've witnessed a scenario where this boy had a seizure 😭 I cried that day.
Read my chat with his mum this morning they need 8M for surgery. This is one of those times I really wished God blesses me the way I want 😭

Anybody can hold and kiss a badge, but how many will still hold and kiss the badge when it gets stained?
This is not football.
How many of you will really stand by that thing you’re showing so much love for right now?!
Well, the answers lie in the TEST!
May we pass our tests 🙏🏾
