Theology 101: Degrees in ministry studies are being stripped of original languages, systematic theology, historical theology, and biblical studies. As a result, churches are being led by skilled leaders and communicators but not wise pastor-theologians. They are repeating the same kinds of shifts that led to the late medieval and modernist declines of Christian orthodoxy and orthopraxy. But they wouldn’t know it, because they forsook church history decades ago.
