Reception had a fantastic pirate day on Friday to finish off our pirate topic! 🏴‍☠️We even practised walking the plank over the shark infested water! 🦈

We have had a very busy few days with lots of pirate activities in RP. We have made our own pirate hats using newspaper, painted our own pirate ships and made a map to find the buried treasure! 🏴‍☠️🏴‍☠️

This morning Mrs Halliwell came to tell us that a man wearing a black hat had dropped something off at the office for us.Reception opened it and found a map inside. We followed the instructions and found x marks the spot. The pirates had left us some ingredients to make pizzas!

RP had a very busy morning yesterday taking part in Sport’s Day! All the children tried so hard in each activity/race. Well done! 🏃🏾🏃‍♀️🥄🥚

Reception have enjoyed using the natural resources in our mud kitchen to create some new recipes! 👩🏼‍🍳👨‍🍳

Today is World bee day 🐝 Reception have talked about how important bees are to us and talked about how they do a waggle dance to show the other bees where the pollen is. We have made bees in the play dough, made bee masks, had a go at drawing bees and tasted honey! 🐝🐝

This afternoon we had a very special visitor in the classroom. Mike the bearded dragon lives at Mrs Gormans house and she brought him down to Reception for us all to meet him! We learnt all about what Mike likes to eat, why he has spikes and how to stroke him!We were very gentle!

This afternoon RP have been on a minibeast hunt around the allotments! We found lots of minibeasts that we could tick off our list. We were very careful when we picked the minibeast up and made sure we put them back where we found them! 🐞🐝🪲🐜🕷️🦟🐛

RP vets officially opened this morning! We have been very busy looking after lots of animals from dogs, hedgehogs and even a giraffe! 🐶🦔🦒

This morning RP received some packages from the zoo! We read the descriptions on the parcels and guessed which animal the zoo had sent us. After carpet time we thought about what animal we would like the zoo to send us. Look at some of our fantastic writing! 🐯🐆🐶🐅🦒

Yesterday afternoon RP went on a spring walk. We took our checklists outside and looked around the school grounds for signs of spring. 🌸🌼🌿🌱

RP were introduced to the apparatus in P.E this week. We listened to the instructions and used the equipment carefully. 🏃‍♀️🏃🏾

This afternoon RP have been drawing our very own sea creatures on rocks collected from the beach. We drew our sea creature and added seaweed and bubbles! Can you guess which sea creatures we have drawn? 🐙🐳🦈🐠🐡

This afternoon RP have been on an Easter hunt around the nature trail. We each had a clipboard and had to look out for the pictures. When we found the picture we ticked it off on our sheet. At the end of the hunt we found a basket of chocolate eggs! 🥚🐇😋

This afternoon RP have been talking about nests. We talked about how birds build nests and why they build them high in the trees. We then made our own chocolate nests! They were delicious 😋😋
