We are living through a monetary revolution so multifaceted that few of us comprehend its full extent. Consider the divergent performance of three forms of money this year: the U.S. dollar, gold and Bitcoin https://t.co/so91tzI8lV

Today, we are announcing the launch of a new service that will enable customers to buy, hold and sell #Cryptocurrency directly from their PayPal account. https://t.co/QS6JRmG9hs
#Bitcoin is the first digital monetary system capable of storing all the money in the world for every individual, corporation, and government in a fair & equitable manner, without losing any of it. If that's not intrinsically valuable, what is?
Apple is a mobile network, Google is a search network, Facebook is a social network, #Bitcoin is a monetary network. All benefit from advances in software & hardware technology, as well as Metcalfe’s law. Many understand the former, few understand the later.
@michael_saylor said "Every good investment., if you're going to put a lot of money at work, the winning formula for the last 10-15 years has been, find a digital dominant network that dematerializes some fundamental thing."
Thread below on why to buy bitcoin...
YOUR FRIEND IN 10 YEARS:
How did you get so lucky with Bitcoin?
YOU IN 10 YEARS:
I didn’t get lucky. I put in the time to understand how f$cking revolutionary Bitcoin is and what an incredible asymmetric opportunity it was. Don’t you dare attribute my foresight to luck.
What is the number one reason why you are in this space?
Mine is to protect myself and my family from the coming global financial collapse. Yes sounds extreme but so is 23 trillion in debt not including unfunded liabilities and whatever else central banks have printed in secret.
When people say they believe in cryptocurrency but aren’t sure about Bitcoin, it’s like saying you believe in the Internet but aren’t sure about TCP/IP and HTML.
ur crypto might not be decentralized if it:
1) has has a C-suite & PR dept
2) puts out monthly reports
3) created all coins & put most holdings in escrow
4) is missing blocks
5) has txns that can be frozen
6) has purposeful brand/name/logo confusion
7) has someone you can sue
The world is going cashless; that is inevitable.
The question is if you want your money to be numbers stored in databases with unlimited total supply that can be tampered with
or
numbers stored on an immutable public ledger with a limited total supply

Digitally centralized assets have poor deep safety. They were designed in & only work in a legally stable environment.
Real estate & gold have deeper safety, assuming strong local security.
Trust-minimized Bitcoin uses computer science to achieve unprecedentedly deep safety.
