I’ve been working in the medical field as a Respiratory Therapist for more than 10 years, and I’m currently working abroad. Like many OFWs, I didn’t want to rely on my salary forever. I wanted to build something that would continue growing while I was busy taking care of patients and working 12 hour shifts.

Over the years, I tried investing in different businesses. Some did well, but most of them required my time and constant attention. If I wasn’t there, the business barely moved. Last year, I also lost a significant amount of money in one investment. It was one of the hardest financial lessons I’ve ever experienced. That moment made me realize I didn’t just want another investment. I wanted something I could build consistently while continuing the career I love.

I’ve also been investing in Philippine stocks for years, but I’ve always wanted exposure to US companies. I spent a long time looking for a platform that made it possible.

Earlier this year, I became a Bitget Builder, and joining the Bitget community introduced me to rTokens. It immediately caught my attention because it was exactly what I had been looking for. Instead of rushing in, I spent time reading articles, following community discussions, and learning how rTokens work. I wanted to understand what I was investing in before putting my money into it.

When I finally felt ready, I bought my very first rToken, rSanDisk.

To many people, it might have looked like just another trade. But for me, it meant much more. It was the first step toward rebuilding my confidence after experiencing losses. I still remember checking my portfolio after that first purchase and thinking, this felt like the investing approach I’d been searching for. Seeing my portfolio slowly grow gave me the confidence to keep learning, stay consistent, and keep investing.

From there, I slowly added rMSFT, rSPY, rNVDA, and rO. I wasn’t trying to get rich overnight. My goal was simple. Keep investing every month, stay patient, and let consistency do the work.

Sometimes I wonder how different things might have been if I had discovered rTokens earlier. Maybe I wouldn’t have invested so much money into businesses that eventually failed. But I’ve learned that every setback teaches us something. Instead of dwelling on what I lost, I chose to focus on what I can build from today onward.

Every payday, after paying my bills and helping my family, I set aside part of my salary for my rToken portfolio. It may not be a huge amount, but every investment represents another step toward the future I’m working for.

My plan is to keep investing for the next 10 to 15 years while I’m still working abroad. I don’t see rTokens as a shortcut to wealth. I see them as part of my retirement plan. I hope that when the day finally comes for me to return home to the Philippines for good, I’ll have a portfolio that I’ve patiently built over the years. One that gives me more financial security and allows me to spend more time with my family.

Today, when I look at my portfolio, I don’t just see rSanDisk, rMSFT, rSPY, rNVDA, and rO. I see every 12 hour shift, every sacrifice of being away from home, every lesson from my past mistakes, and every payday that I chose to invest instead of giving up.

My journey with rTokens started with one small investment in rSanDisk. Looking back now, I realize it wasn’t just the beginning of my portfolio. It was the moment I started believing in my financial future again, one investment at a time.

I’m really proud of this. Gue gak mau ini disimpen aja, jadi gue mau cerita soal recent achievement salah satu Bitget Builder kami, @iqbullish! 🎉

Setelah 9 bulan jadi Bitget Builder, sekarang dia udah "graduate" dan berhasil landing sebagai karyawan full-time di salah satu exchange terbesar di Indonesia.

Selama berkontribusi sebagai Bitget Builder, Iqbal udah nge-lead banyak event serta berkoordinasi dengan bebrapa community dan project leaders buat bikin community meetup di kota-kota non-mainstream, alias kota-kota yang jarang dilirik exchange atau project lain. Boyolali, Madiun, Cianjur, Purwokerto, Kediri, Pemalang, Wonosobo, Klaten, Wonogiri adalah kota-kota yang pernah disinggahi Iqbal buat diajak kumpul asyik.

Ada satu hal yang bikin gue makin bangga. Pengalaman sebagai Bitget Builder emang bukan satu-satunya yang define karirnya karena doi punya banyak pengalaman di perusahaan lain, tapi Iqbal nyebut pengalamannya sebagai Bitget Builder sebagai salah satu kunci keberhasilan karirnya. Buat doi, ini bukan cuma program, ini tempat dia bertumbuh, dapetin pengalaman, dan expand network.

Dan emang itu yang kami mau dari Bitget Builder. Ini bukan sekadar "program Web3 kayak yang lain aja”. Di sini Builder bakal beneran menggali potensi mereka dan berkontribusi nyata buat perkembangan Web3 di Indonesia sambil nambahin achievement di CV kerja lo.
