That's not necessarily a contradiction.

It might just mean investors have moved from asking “Will AI work?” to “How big does this actually get?”

The weirdest thing about the AI trade right now?

The same market is simultaneously worried about:

AI spending being too aggressive.

AI development being too dangerous.

AI companies becoming too powerful.

So the index looks healthy.

The average stock?

Not nearly as healthy.

That's a very different market from a broad-based bull run.

Here's the weird part about the stock market rally:

The S&P 500 is almost back at record highs...

but nearly 59% of its components are still at least 20% below their own highs.

That tells me the market isn't really questioning whether AI matters.

It's questioning how fast the world can absorb it.

Those are two very different risks.

Something weird is happening in AI.

The industry is simultaneously talking about slowing down AI development because of safety concerns...

while investors are still putting enormous amounts of money behind the companies building it.

Now some of that liquidity is showing up on a venue originally known for crypto-native perpetuals.

Maybe the real RWA story isn't TradFi replacing DeFi.

It's TradFi liquidity discovering DeFi execution.

Hyperliquid is becoming an interesting place for RWA trading.

That's the part I didn't expect to see move this quickly.

RWA was supposed to be the “boring institutional” corner of crypto.

This is why I don't like judging an entire AI cycle from one scary headline.

Capital spending can slow.

AI demand can still grow.

Those aren't mutually exclusive.

Yesterday everyone was worried about an AI slowdown.

Today the semiconductor trade is back.
