—what’s your take? #RepublicanHistoryMonth
Whereas the election of Abraham Lincoln, the first Republican President, in 1860 marked a turning point in the nation’s struggle over slavery, culminating in the issuance of the Emancipation Proclamation on January 1, 1863, which declared freedom for over 3 million enslaved individuals in Confederate-held territories;
A Resolution to Designate January as Republican History Month."
“Whereas the Republican Party, founded in 1854, played a pivotal role in abolishing slavery through the Emancipation Proclamation, effective January 1, 1863; whereas its legacy includes the 13th, 14th, and 15th Amendments; and whereas January precedes Black History Month, honoring this history; be it resolved that January, beginning in 2026, is designated Republican History Month
@saylor@ponderizor Save some for the people, Bitcoin was designed to be a peer to peer electronic cash system. It wasn't designed for you to hoard it and sell a sh$tstock in it's place.
Bitcoin was designed to be a peer to peer electronic cash system, now it's pointless if every institution is just going to hoard it. Bitcoin was designed to be spent, competing with Mastercard and Visa. Bitcoin should be accepted in every store, restuarant, hotel on the planet. Everyone who holds Bitcoin is now waiting on it to hit $1 million only to sell it for USD or Euro etc. I'm still holding thought 😆
@elonmusk@PeterSweden7 If Elon did not buy this platform we would never hear or see any of this, 44 billion for free speech, I'm willing to bet Elon would've paid 100 billion to save us. 🙌
Hoxha’s Forbidden Beaches or Real Growth? Albania’s Choice
Albania’s tourism is booming. Record visitor numbers — over 12 million foreign arrivals in 2025 — are turning once-quiet stretches of the Adriatic and Ionian into economic engines. Ksamil, Sarandë, and the Riviera now draw international crowds to some of the planet’s most beautiful beaches, creating jobs and investment in a country that spent decades cut off from the world.
At the same time, protests are erupting over plans to develop Sazan Island and nearby coastal land into luxury resorts. The project involves investors including Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump, who see potential to convert a former communist military site and underused beachfront into high-end tourism infrastructure. Opponents call it a giveaway of pristine or protected land.
Compare that to Enver Hoxha’s Albania. The communist dictator who ruled from 1944 to 1985 did not just control the economy — he erased faith and sealed off the country’s natural beauty. In 1967 he banned all religion, declared Albania the world’s first atheist state, and ordered churches and mosques torn down or repurposed. Believers and clergy faced prison, labor camps, or worse. An entire generation grew up without open worship.
The same regime kept Albanians away from their own coastline. Beaches were not places for swimming, recreation, or tourism. The shores were lined with bunkers and military posts. Freedom of movement was restricted. There was no private enterprise, no vibrant coastal economy, and no access for ordinary people. Hoxha’s Albania was a closed fortress where the people could not enjoy the paradise at their doorstep.
Today those beaches are open. Tourism is delivering real growth. Thoughtful development — turning old military sites and underused land into resorts that attract high-value visitors — can accelerate jobs, infrastructure, and prosperity while the country pushes toward EU standards.
Protests raise legitimate points about environmental protection and how deals are structured. But blocking projects that unlock economic value from Hoxha-era relics risks telling the world Albania prefers the past over progress.
The Albanian people faced decades of isolation, poverty, and repression under communism. Beaches stayed empty. Religion was crushed. The country stagnated.
Do the Albanian people want to go backwards toward that communism, or forward toward growth?
