This is not Compactor! This is not RingMod! I'll try to ask in PlugData community to make this one. It is a very simple logic process. I'm sure easy to make in PlugData or NI Reaktor. I just have no time to dive into them.

I came up with this VST process idea, maybe not exists anywhere. Something like side chain-clipper/clipping mask.
1sr line - signal. 2d line - side chain. 3rd - showing overlap. 4th - result.
2nd option - there is no clip happens on the opposite side of the side-chain signal

@Ian_Fisch Very misleading post. Instead of making up your thoughts check what exact devs said. There are bunch of devs quotes can be found who clearly stated they checked stuff on TV and even used it's specifics for advantage. It's sad to see so many people believed you.

@Ian_Fisch If the touchups were done why you claim that as an example? As the touchups might be done checking with TV. How this is an argument I don't get it. And the sprite looks noticeably different from the initial.
