New onboarding flow for Bizway, inspired by @benmcredmond's recent brilliant piece on adding friction to the onboarding experience.

Goals:
- Get people to Bizway's 'aha' moment sooner;
- By end of onboarding, new users have their first Biz and Plan already created--unlocking Bizway's most powerful features;
- Under 5 mins (with load times);
- Reduce customer churn.

Added friction:
- Users now have to input their business idea, name and first business model details before they checkout.

Why?

Before this, after signup users would be met with a Dashboard where they were prompted to create a Biz.

Then, they needed to add key business model details before being able to create Plans (so that the plans were more relevant and accurate)...

It seemed like a nice, gradual way of doing things, but many users weren't making it to the point of creating their first Plan--which is where Bizway really speeds things up for you.

Now, every user who makes it through the onboarding flow will start with their first Gameplan ready to go, and some momentum already built up for what is the whole point of Bizway, anyway:

I now use @Bizwayio to draft all my SEO content.

I'm sure other tools are 'better' at writing, but the ability to brainstorm, research, reference existing campaign info, understand Bizway's target audience, remember our offerings, etc. is just very handy.

Also, by using Bizway every day, it's the best way to bump into things that need improving.

My current frustration is that I can't create tables to store keywords and have to either store them as notes or create tasks for each post (see image).

The beauty of owning a product that you actually want to use is there's an intrinsic motivation and urgency to fix these types of issues--I actually want that feature, and have the power to build it... so it's up to me to simply get on with it 🤷‍♂️

‘Don’t waste time on SEO before validating your product’ is pretty common advice for solo builders.

If you’re really just experimenting and have low conviction about your idea, then sure.

But if you can see yourself committing to an idea for 12+ months, then starting with SEO from day one can give you:

- A calm and steady traffic growth curve that matches your product's development, so that you have less pressure while the early product is still changing early on;
- Some real time pressure and urgency though, because you have real visitors stumbling across your product and you can feel the opportunity cost of not having it quite ready;
- Ability to adjust messaging and niche down on use cases based on real traffic signals (and competitiveness of keywords);
- Then, after you've put in 6 months of work to tailor the product to your early users, you have this nice flow of traffic at month 6 that you don't need to constantly go out and win, over and over--which will be handy, because by that stage there'll be more customer support and product improvements to be done!

Not the easiest channel by any means, but if you have had some success with it in the past, I only wanted to make the 'for' case since I often see SEO being written off as 'too slow' for indie hackers and solopreneurs.
