On the second day of #Navratri, we worship Maa Brahmacharini, the goddess of tapasya and knowledge. With a rosary in one hand and a kamandal in the other, she teaches us that discipline and learning are among the highest forms of devotion.

In Assam, our daughters carry that same spirit into their classrooms. Under Mukhya Mantrir Nijut Moina, girl students in Higher Secondary, graduation and post-graduation at government and government-aided institutions receive monthly support for ten months a year: ₹1,000 in HS, ₹1,250 at degree level and ₹2,500 for post-graduate studies.

This is not just a scholarship. It is a firm stand against child marriage and early dropout. It tells every family that a daughter's education is a worthy investment, and that the State will stand beside her until she reaches her goal.

When a girl chooses her books over an early marriage, she is performing her own tapasya. May Maa Brahmacharini bless every Nijut Moina with focus, wisdom and the courage to dream without limits.

An exhilarating day yesterday as I distributed appointment letters to over 400 candidates and shared one important message with them- serve the people with honesty and sincerity.

I also chaired a series of meetings to review our development efforts.

We’ve enhanced the Orunodoi amount to ₹1,500 this month- enabling them to spend freely with their families this festive season.

Democracy is not merely about accepting the verdict when it favours you; it is about respecting the people’s mandate, constitutional institutions, and democratic processes at all times.

Rahul Gandhi and his Congress party are mounting an attack on the very foundations of India’s vibrant democracy.

Their double standard is plain to see. When Shri @narendramodi Ji is elected Prime Minister, Rahul Gandhi calls it manipulation, yet his own election to Parliament and his subsequent elevation as Leader of the Opposition is beyond question.

When Assam votes, the result is unacceptable, when Kerala votes, it is welcomed. Democracy, for the Congress, is valid only when it delivers victory for the Congress.

Now, by marching to the Supreme Court despite the Hon’ble Chief Justice of India declining a meeting, Rahul Gandhi seeks to turn political pressure on the highest court of our land. Constitutional institutions cannot be made answerable to a party’s electoral frustrations.

The people of Assam will not stay silent. From tomorrow until 31 October, @BJP4Assam will hold peaceful mass rallies at every district headquarters across the state. Through these rallies, we will alert our people to the Cong’s party's attempts to:

1️⃣ Blackmail our constitutional institutions

2️⃣Shield illegal infiltrators by opposing the Special Intensive Revision (SIR)

3️⃣Undermine the democratic mandate of the people

At the same time through this program, we will reaffirm our unwavering support for Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji and his vision of a Viksit Bharat by 2047.

The people’s mandate deserves respect. Our institutions deserve independence. Neither can be held hostage to political convenience.

On the first day of Navratri, we bow to Maa Shailaputri, daughter of the Himalayas. She stands for steadiness and strength, the firm ground on which every journey begins.

For lakhs of families in Assam, that firm ground is Orunodoi. Every month, more than 37 lakh women receive ₹1,250 directly in their bank accounts, with no middlemen in between. It pays for medicines, pulses, vegetables and the small needs that keep a household running with dignity.

We placed this support in the hands of women by design. The mother of the house knows best where every rupee must go. When she is secure, the whole family stands on stable ground, just as all of creation rests on the strength of the Mother.

As we begin these nine sacred days, our prayer is simple: may no mother in Assam have to worry about her family's next meal. May Maa Shailaputri bless every household with stability, and every woman with the strength to lead it.
