Harry stared Louis right in the eyes as he took a step back. “I’m done.” He watched as the words hit. “Done being controlled. Done being told where to sit, what to do, how to breathe.” 

Louis’ voice was calm, in a way that was more dangerous than shouting. “You don’t get to throw that word, done, at me like it means nothing. Not here, not with me.” He stepped forward, forcing Harry to take another step back. “You’re angry? Fine. You’re jealous? Good. But don’t you dare stand here and pretend you want to walk away from what’s ours.”

Life was never the same after the incident in New York, and Harry had been living with a broken heart ever since. Patched together with a few Band-Aids that threatened to rip at any time. Would he ever get to know the truth about Louis? And even more so, would he ever get to know the real Louis?

They’d already broken each other once, and unfortunately for the two of them, the future didn’t seem to be much brighter. Louis knew he had to change, and if he ever got another chance, he was determined to do so. Mostly, at least.

What happens when independence knocks on the door and offers the opportunity of a lifetime? Will it end in another heartbreak? 👀
